Membership On-Hold (Suspension) Service
Lifestyle Fitness members are able to temporarily put their membership on-hold when they know in advance they won’t be able to use any Lifestyle Fitness club. During the on-hold period, Lifestyle Fitness members pay a once off maintenance fee in lieu of their standard membership fee.
A Lifestyle Fitness member may suspend their membership for a maximum of 1/3 of their membership contract. During the time the membership is on-hold, a $30 once off maintenance fee will be applied and the member is not permitted to use any Lifestyle Fitness location, including any programmes that Lifestyle Fitness offer.
Members can apply for this service at their Lifestyle Fitness location by completing an on-hold form at reception and making the once off hold payment. Please take time to read this form, fill out all relevant information and make sure you include your email address so we can send confirmation of your request.
Points to note when applying for this member service...
- Membership on-holds cannot be backdated to a date in the past.
- If you have a paid-in-full membership, your expiry date will be extended by the number of months that your membership is on-hold.
- If your membership is paid by automatic payments, you will need to change to direct debits in order to access this member service. Please speak to our friendly reception staff for more information.
- If your membership is paid by Adfit or EzyPay we will contact the service provider and place these payments on hold once the hold fee has been paid to the club.
- With the provision of a doctors certificate when requesting a membership hold there is no charge for the hold.
- If you wish to start back at Lifestyle Fitness prior to the end of your scheduled on-hold period, just stop in at any location and tell the reception staff you are ready to reactivate your membership.
Membership Cancellation Procedure
At all Lifestyle Fitness clubs, members can cancel their membership under the terms and agreement that were signed during the initial joining interview.
Here are the main points of Lifestyle Fitness membership cancellation...
- Non-term memberships may be cancelled for any reason and at any time by filling in a cancellation form and giving 30 days notice to a Lifestyle Fitness club.
- Term memberships may be cancelled once the minimum period of that membership is fulfilled. Once the term membership is reached the member may cancel at any time by giving 30 days written notice to Lifestyle Fitness.
- Lifestyle Fitness will allow memberships to be cancelled
(a) for a qualified medical reason it is not wise for a member to exercise (a current medical certificate is required before the membership can be cancelled). No cancellation fee will apply in this situation.
(b) When a member moves residence (by a certain distance) away from a Lifestyle Fitness location. A cancellation fee of $150 will apply.

Transferring Membership (sale)
Yes, you can transfer your membership if you no longer wish to use it. You are able to on-sell or gift your membership to a friend or family member; there is a transfer fee of $99 to activate the transfer. Contact reception for further details.

Can I use other gyms?
Lifestyle Fitness has three Auckland locations, Apollo in Albany, Scene in the central City, and Rosebank in Avondale. All members have multi access to the clubs. Contact reception if you require an access card to Scene with your Albany or Rosebank membership.

How will I know what to do at the gym? Will I have help?
The initial appointments ensure that our staff work with you from the moment that you join to provide you with a wellbeing assessment and familiarisation with our equipment in the gym.
What if I forget what to do?
- We teach you how to use the equipment and free weights which will help you to achieve your health and fitness goals.
- Lifestyle Fitness @ Scene is a 24 hour facility allowing you to workout at your leisure, we have Personal Trainers available to be contacted to set up PT sessions.
I have never been to a gym before, what can I expect?
You will be treated as an individual with empathy and understanding in a relaxed environment. Apollo is designed for people who have never been to a gym before and for those who need a little bit of extra help while recovering from injury, but we also cater to those who are regular gym users and know their routine.
